CONTEST CATEGORY

DAY 1

  • This category requires tattoos to contain only black & grey or white ink. All styles are welcome.
  • Size: minimum of ¾ leg sleeve or ¾ arm sleeve and above.
  • This category requires tattoos to be a chest piece, back piece or bodysuit and contain only black & grey or white ink. All styles are welcome.
  • Size: full back/front or bodysuit.
  • This category is open for all tattoos done in ornamental style (Maori, Mandala, Geometric, Tribal, Dotwork, Blackwork, etc.)
  • Size: minimum of 25cm and above.
  • This category is open for all types of tattoos.
  • Must be done at SGTE 2024 on the event day, from 10 AM – 6 PM.

DAY 2

  • This category requires tattoos to be done in color. All styles are welcome.
  • Size: minimum of ¾ leg sleeve or ¾ arm sleeve and above.
  • This category is open to all types of Asian motives, including Oriental designs: lotus, peony, samurai, geisha, tiger, dragon, snake, traditional mask, etc.)
  • Size: minimum of 30cm and above.
  • This category requires tattoos to be a chest piece, back piece or bodysuit and done in color. All styles are welcome.
  • Size: full back/front or bodysuit.
  • This category is open for naturalistic tattoos and portraits, done in color or black & grey.
  • All sizes are welcome.
  • This category is open for all types of tattoos.
  • Must be done at SGTE 2024 on the event day, from 10 AM – 6 PM.

DAY 3

  • This category is open for small tattoos of all types.
  • Size: maximum of 15cm.
  • This category is open for all styles not included in the contest categories done in color or black & grey.
  • Neo-traditional, Old school, New school, Trash Polka, Biomechanical, Watercolor,… can sign up for this category.
  • Size: minimum of 25cm and above.
  • This category is open for all types of tattoos.
  • Must be done at SGTE 2024 on the event day, from 10 AM – 6 PM.
  • This category is open for all types of tattoos.
  • Must be done in 3 days of SGTE 2024 (10 AM – 6 PM).
  • Artists can collaborate to sign up for this category.
  • The Winner of each category will automatically sign up for this category.

RULES & REGULATIONS

  1. The registration for contest categories will start from 10 AM – 12 PM on event day (except BEST OF DAY, BEST OF SHOW)
  2. Tattoo artists with booths at SAIGON TATTOO EXPO 2024 could participate in all contest categories without registration fees.
  3. Each category requires at least 6 artists to participate. The category that has less than 6 participants will be cancelled.
  4. A tattoo work can be registered in a maximum 2 contest categories (within 3 days).
  5. An Artist is allowed to register for 2 candidate numbers in 1 contest category.
  6. The WINNERs of each category in SGTE 2024 cannot participate in other categories (except BEST OF BEST).
  7. BEST OF DAY:
    – Tattoo artists must start working from 10 AM, and finish at 6 PM in SGTE 2024.
    – Tattoo artists must take their models to the Register Area at 10 AM for registration and receive the candidate number before starting work. SGTE 2024 staff will take photos of the empty body parts to ensure fairness for all participants of the “BEST OF DAY” category that the tattoos are finished within the event day.
  8. BEST OF SHOW:
    – Tattoo artists must do the work within 3 days, starting from 10 AM on the 1st day and finishing at 6 PM on the 3rd day in SGTE 2024.
    – Artists can work as individuals or collaborate in this category.
    – Tattoo artists must take their models to the Register Area at 10 AM on the 1st day for registration and receive the candidate number before starting work. SGTE 2024 staff will take photos of the empty body parts to ensure fairness for all participants of the “BEST OF SHOW” category that the tattoos are finished within 3 days of the event. 
  9. Tattoos that won awards in the SAIGON TATTOO EXPO 2018, 2020, and 2022 are not allowed to register for any contest category of SGTE 2024.
  10. The Organizing Board of SAIGON TATTOO EXPO 2024 has the right to change the rules and regulations above without prior notice.
